In a joint effort to promote gender equality and the well-being of women in the agricultural sector, a transformative event was held in San Fernando, Chile, bringing together 20 women from various rural communities to share experiences, develop new skills, foster collaboration, and build supportive networks.
Titled «Let’s Dream and Shine Again», this second Workshop on the Well-Being of Female Wheat Farmers was part of an initiative focused on promoting women’s well-being while contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—particularly SDG 5, which aims to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.
“This workshop is a platform for women in agriculture to feel empowered and appreciated,” said Kinna Guichard, Head of Sustainability and Communications at Tresmontes Lucchetti. “We firmly believe that by creating these spaces for training and well-being, we are not only enabling transformative female gatherings but also strengthening our communities and paving the way for a more sustainable future,” she added.
The event also featured activities and dynamics aimed at reconnecting participants with themselves. The women shared their dreams, goals, and aspirations, fostering a supportive and motivating environment.
Daniela Bignotti, co-founder and partner at Bigda-Agro, expressed: “We’re thrilled with the great turnout for this second gathering, where we briefly set aside our roles as mothers, workers, daughters, and reconnected with ourselves. We reflected, shared stories, and enjoyed a few hours as the empowered, free women we are.”
One participant, Patricia Poblete, remarked: “The experience was truly wonderful. We so rarely take time to think about ourselves, our dreams, and how much we have in common. It was a pleasure—congratulations to the organizers. I’m leaving clear about what I want and how to achieve it, with an actionable plan.”
Ricardo Castro, agronomist at Tresmontes Lucchetti, commented: “With this second edition, we continue to reaffirm our commitment to national agriculture and its communities by designing collaborative actions that promote development—especially for women in farming—recognizing their leadership and essential role in strengthening our rural communities.”
